Leonor Thornton is a realistic painter, with a great eye for visual detail.
She was born in Colombia with a talent for all kinds of art.
She studied at the art school “Jorge Tadeo Lozano” in Bogota Colombia and “Catholic University of Chile”, however, family responsibilities kept her from a professional career. She also excels in other art forms, notably in jewelry and polymer clay figurines.

In 1985 she came to live in Miami and started to dream again about being an artist. In 1998 she moved to Tampa where she took some art classes and was interrupted again. It was only in Milwaukee in 2001 that she found an excellent teacher who started to improve and stimulate her talent and taught the techniques to paint in charcoal, pastel, oil and silver point.

Her work includes portraits, figures, landscapes and still-life, all of them done from her interest and wide ranging love for art. Each pastel or painting captures the special personality and character of the subject so it can be viewed and enjoyed time and again .
